Those Were The Days

I called Julia last night.  "You're going where?" she asked.  "To the Vanilla Ice and M C Hammer concert in Orem," I answered.  "Wow, are you serious?" she replied.

Last night was a serious stroll down memory lane.  Yes, I do remember that far back.  As a teenager I was never really into Rap Music.  It was just good music to dance to.  (However, I did have a friend that modeled his hair after Vanilla Ice.  It was pretty cool.)  I never imagined that I would see that much spandex, crimped hair, and serious bling again.  It was fairly amusing and vaguely nauseating.  All in all (I have to admit) it was fun to dance and act like a teenager for a while.  (Side Note:  Vanilla Ice and M C Hammer kept talking about the last time they were one the stage together 20 years ago.  Some of the kids there weren't even born yet!!)

As the evening wore on and M C Hammer was still going strong at 1:00 a.m., the thought popped into  my head, "I'm not cut out for late night parties anymore."  Needless to say, I slept until almost noon today.  I haven't done that in a long time either.

Skiing and now this?

YOu went skiing?? YOu didn't mention that.

Okay, it's totally funny that these two even put on a concert and in Utah no less. I guess it's one of the safest bets when it comes to getting people who are nostalgic for their childhood. Were they wearing the balloon pants?

Don't you mean muscle man pants? I want to know if you spotted any leg warmers.

Too funny! My question is what even possessed you to go to an MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice Concert in the first place! I remember when I lived in MD some one had written "hammertime" on a stop sign, so it said STOP Hammertime. That always made me laugh when I drove by!
